Construction Update Blog -
Week of March 7
This week in the South Wing, the contractors are completing their work in the Atrium and Roof Garden areas, installing the beautiful plants, trees, and flowers. The Atrium was such a nice space before these items were added, and now it's even more wonderful!
Some of the plants include Japanese Zelkova, Arborvitae, Pink Perfection Sasanqua Camellia, Feather Reed Grass, Tuscan Blue Rosemary, Purple Coneflower, Hostas, Phaphis Palm, Lipstick Plant, Queen of Aglaonema, and Cast Iron Plant. I just love the names of some of these plants, and some, like the Lipstick Plant, quite accurately describe the plant's appearance.
This new plant life has added a wonderful aroma to the area, too. All of the construction dust is fading into the background, and the plants are loving their new spaces, I just know it! I'm certain that our patients, families, visitors, and staff will enjoy them, too.
Also this week in the South Wing:
- The tile floor in the Atrium is being installed.
- The ceiling-mounted patient care double arms are being installed. These hold all of the medical gases and electrical outlets for the patients' needs.
- The 3rd floor corridor flooring is being installed.
- The security entrance card readers are being installed.
We look forward to seeing you all at our Grand Opening events, to be announced soon. Have a wonderful week!
