South Wing Groundbreaking

Construction of the four-story, 258,000 square-foot patient tower began in September 2008 with one of the most unusual groundbreaking ceremonies in the history of Arkansas construction. It was held indoors due to a very wet and rainy day for the planned event, which included ceremonial shoveling of dirt in a large, makeshift pot of dirt in the hospital's East Campus.
