Gregory W. Albert M.D.

Gregory Albert, MD, MPH is a pediatric neurosurgeon at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of neurosurgery at UAMS. He received his MD and Master of Public Health degrees from Tufts University in 2003. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society while at Tufts. He then completed neurosurgery residency and a one year fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During his time at Iowa, he was awarded a Ruth L. Kirchstein National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health. He received additional fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario.

Following completion of his training in the summer of 2011, Dr. Albert joined the Division of Neurosurgery at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the Department of Neurosurgery at UAMS. He practices the full range of pediatric neurosurgery with a particular interest in the surgical management of epilepsy. He has an active research interest in pediatric traumatic brain injury. He has published a number of peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. Albert is a member of several national and local organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the National Neurotrauma Society, and the Arkansas Medical Society. He also serves on a number of hospital committees.

Dr. Albert lives in Little Rock with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
