    Physician Bio

    Dr. Susan S. Demirel is a Pediatric Chief Resident and Instructor at Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH). As a faculty member, she manages a large Pediatric Residency Program and attends as a pediatric hospitalist, ER physician and in the General Pediatric Clinic.

    Dr. Demirel obtained her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2010. She completed her pediatric residency at ACH in 2013 prior to beginning her faculty position and serving as Pediatric Chief Resident. She received her cum laude Bachelor of Arts degree, in Sociology and Anthropology, from Westminster College (Fulton, Missouri) where she was elected into the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Society, the Skulls of Seven Westminster College Campus elite Honorary Society, and Westminster Woman of Significance.

    She has been awarded the Barton Foundation Scholarship by UAMS and has developed her leadership skills by serving on the ACH House staff Advisory Committee since 2010. In the last couple years, she also worked with the ACH Chief Council and led a medical Morbidity and Mortality workgroup. Dr. Demirel is board eligible for the 2013 exam. She currently lives in North Little Rock with her husband and daughter.
