    Lorraine Thompson, MD is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia in the UAMS College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, practicing at Arkansas Children's Hospital

    Dr. Thompson received her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas, Saint Kitts & Nevis, WI. She completed her residency training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology with an emphasis in Cardiac Anesthesia at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.

    Dr. Thompson joined Arkansas Children's Hospital in 2011, and is currently working as a member of the Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Team. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists, the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society, and the Arkansas Medical Society. Dr. Thompson's clinical and research interests lie in the anesthetic management of children and adults with congenital cardiac defects, quality improvement and quality control issues. Arkansas Children's Hospital is currently implementing an electronic anesthesia record. Dr. Thompson has taken a leadership role in this project, is and on the forefront of improving perioperative patient care and work flow for our patients.
