    Physician Bio

    Dala Zakaria, M.D. is an assistant professor of pediatrics in pediatric cardiology for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She graduated from the University Of Damascus School Of Medicine, and completed pediatric residency programs at The Children's Hospital of Damascus University in Damascus, Syria and Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, Georgia. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Zakaria went on to complete her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

    In 2013, Dr. Zakaria joined the staff of UAMS and Arkansas Children's Hospital where her primary clinical interests are advanced imaging including 3D imaging, transesophageal echocardiography and fetal echocardiography. Her research interests include pulmonary hypertension in infants and she has published multiple papers.

    Dr. Zakaria is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, as well as, by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and the American Heart Association for Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is an affiliate of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, Arkansas Medical Society and the American Society of Echocardiography.
