FORTUNE® Names ACH to "100 Best Companies to Work For" List for Fourth Time

LITTLE ROCK, AR. (Jan. 20, 2011) - FORTUNE® announced Thursday that Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) has been ranked  No. 75 on its 14th annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. The full list and related stories appear in the Feb. 7 issue of FORTUNE®, available on newsstands on Monday, Jan. 24, and now at www.FORTUNE.com/bestcompanies.

This marks the fourth year that ACH has ranked among the nation's best employers by FORTUNE.ACH is the only Arkansas-headquartered company that made the 2011 list. A driving factor for companies to be featured on this year's list is that they are still hiring. Despite economic woes and recently announced budget cuts, ACH continues to hire for essential roles and has made a commitment to avoid layoffs.

"We are pleased that FORTUNE® continues to see in Arkansas Children's Hospital the qualities that make it such a great place to work," said ACH Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer David Berry. "We are very humbled by this honor in these difficult times. All the more reason to recognize our employees: They are the reason ACH is such a great place to work. Each and every day, families see their commitment and dedication embodied in the care, love and hope we provide for their children."

To pick the 100 Best Companies, FORTUNE® partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. This year, 311 companies participated in the survey.

The survey asks questions related to employee attitudes about the management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. The other third of the score is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication and diversity.

Any company that is at least seven years old with more than 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible for consideration for FORTUNE® "100 Best Companies to Work For". For an online nomination form, go to www.greatplacetowork.com.
