Telly and Communicator Awards Honor "ACH: A Birthday of Birthdays"
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (June 26, 2013) – Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) has received two distinguished national awards for its centennial television documentary, "ACH: A Birthday of Birthdays." The film, produced in-house by the hospital's Media Services team and aired in primetime across the state last year, received a Silver Award in the documentary category from the Communicator Awards and a Bronze Award from the Telly Awards in the documentary category.
The documentary showcased 100 years of progress, advancement and development at ACH. With a cast of former hospital administrators, physicians, patients and friends, the film portrayed the history of ACH through an extensive collaboration of photographs, interviews and historical recollections. It can be viewed on the hospital's YouTube channel at http://ow.ly/moWh6.
ACH received these awards based on the parameters set by the Communicator and Telly Awards programs. Each organization recognizes films that are comprised of outstanding quality, creativity, innovation and impact. The Telly Awards program highlights the finest films in local and regional media, and the Communicator Awards recognizes ingenuity on an international scale.
"This documentary was a true representation of ACH, the pioneers and unsung heroes who shaped the organization, and the lives that have been changed in Arkansas because of their commitment to children's care," said Director of Communications and Business Development Dan McFadden, APR. "On behalf of these pioneers and the children of Arkansas, we are honored to receive the recognition and awards for this television event."
ACH also recently received recognition for several projects through the Aster Awards, a program that honors healthcare marketing. Those included Gold awards for a massive office building wrap – the signature billboard marking the hospital's centennial – a radio campaign timed to the same event and its 2011 annual report.
Arkansas Children's Hospital is the only pediatric medical center in Arkansas and one of the largest in the United States serving children from birth to age 21. Over the past century, ACH has grown to span 29 city blocks and house 370 beds, a staff of approximately 500 physicians, 80 residents in pediatrics and pediatric specialties and more than 4,000 employees.
