Care Provided:
- The only comprehensive Burn Center in the state of Arkansas
- Acute burn injury referrals
- 10-bed critical care and step-down unit equipped to provide exemplary care to adult and pediatric burn patients
- Treatment and management of burn wounds, soft tissue infections and skin sloughing disorders such as toxic epidermal necrolysis (TENS), Stevens Johnson syndrome (SJS) and other complex wounds
- Patient care and surgery provided by general and plastic surgeons
- Sub-specialists from pediatric and adult disciplines available for consultation
- Specially trained burn registered nurses and burn technicians provide optimal nurse to patient ratios
- A team approach using physicians, nursing staff, social work, child life and education, pastoral care and occupational, physical, recreation, respiratory and speech therapies work together to provide comprehensive care to burn victims
- Provides prevention and outreach education
- Coordinates the Youth Fire Setter Intervention Program and Camp Sunshine (summer camp for pediatric burn survivors)
