Care Provided:

• Complete physiologic and radiographic evaluation of infants and children with cardiovascular abnormalities
• Evaluation and care of congenital and acquired heart disease
• Two bi-plane angiographic suites with state-of-the-art digital angiographic systems which allow thorough evaluation of complex congenital heart problems
• Complete physiologic recording and online analysis of angiograms in the performance of both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Routine diagnostic pre-surgical evaluations and biopsies for transplant patients
• Routine diagnostic evaluation of pulmonary hypertension including the use of vasodilator agents such as nitric oxide
• Interventional cardiac catheterization procedures include balloon valvuloplasty, occlusion of patent ductus arteriosus, device closure of atrial and muscular ventricular septal defects and patent foramen ovale
• Balloon angioplasty with or without stent enlargement
• Complex intracardiac electrophysiologic studies including transcatheter ablation and cryocath ablation of complex arrhythmias utilizing three dimensional mapping for exact localization of the arrhythmia
• Pacing studies and pacemaker and/or defibrillator implantations
• 24/7 care coordinated by three nurses and three radiologic technologists trained in cardiac physiology and anatomy
• Supports the cardiac surgical program
