Treatments & Services provided by the Craniofacial Anomalies Team:

Otoplasty
Otoplasty is another name for fixing prominent ears. Having prominent ears is a congenital deformity that can be surgically corrected.

Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is the name given for nose surgery. Dr. Honnebier can address any issues concerning this for the patient and family.

Orthognathic surgery
Orthognathic surgery is the type of surgery that can help with the position of the jaw. Orthognathic surgery can also correct conditions of the face related to structure, growth, sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, malocclusion problems owing to skeletal disharmonies, or other orthodontic problems that cannot be easily treated with braces. Some children may need extra help when getting an aligned smile.

Myelomeningocele
Myelomeningocele repairs are sometimes indicated for children that were born with their spinal cord showing. Dr. Honnebier assists the neurosurgeon in closing the open area.

Autologous Fat Grafting
Autologous Fat Grafting is a unique procedure that uses the patient's tissue to help plump another area of the body. This can be used in certain syndromes where there is a loss of soft tissue that can be disfiguring to a patient. The fat is usually taken from the abdomen where it is placed in another area of the body to help disguise dysmorphic congenital conditions. This can also benefit children that have scars that dimple the face, as well as Romberg's Syndrome or Treacher Collins. The goal is that the child will feel good about themselves, and feels less different from their peers.

Bony Reconstruction
Bony Reconstruction from the top of the head to the jaw bone is unique to Dr. Honnebier's practice. As a skilled Craniofacial Surgeon any congenital condition that makes a child stand out from their peers can be helped.
