Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Specially trained neonatal nurses are available for one-on-one patient care.

Our 100-bed NICU is equipped and staffed to deliver a full range of care to critically ill neonates from throughout the state. Specially trained neonatal nurses are available for one-on-one patient care when needed. Neonatologists, pediatric residents, and neonatal nurse practitioners provide coverage to the unit, including 24-hour-in-house coverage. This is the only facility in the state of Arkansas that provides a complete head cooling experience. Subspecialists from all the pediatric disciplines are available for consultation 24 hours a day.

We are here not only to care for your baby, but also you and your family as well. If your child is being admitted to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, watch the short video below that will provide information about what you can expect from your visit to the ACH NICU. Our goal is for you to participate in your child's care during the entire hospital stay. We believe that this will help you feel comfortable providing your child's care when it is time to take your baby home.
