Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Head Cooling
The ACH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has become one of the busiest head cooling centers in the U.S.
In 2007, ACH's neonatologists were the first in the world to treat an infant with FDA-approved head cooling technology. The ACH NICU is one of the original NICUs in the country to offer head cooling for babies with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
In the ACH NICU, you will discover a one-of-a-kind experience that involves the TEAM that was involved in the multi-center trial that led to the landmark study: "Selective Head Cooling for the Treatment of Perinatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy".
