Orthotics/Prosthetics
Orthotists provide patient care and services to children with neuromuscular or musculoskeletal disorders of the upper limbs, lower limbs, spine, torso and head. They evaluate, design, fabricate and fit orthosis (braces) to patients. Prosthetists evaluate, design, fabricate and fit prosthesis to the< patients with limb deficiencies. They meet the physicians’ goals in designing the systems that best fit the needs of their patients. They communicate with the physicians, physical therapist, occupational therapist and families to ensure that functional outcomes are achieved. Patients are accepted upon physician referral.
