4th International Symposium on Hemangiomas and Vascular Malformations of the Head and Neck

The 2013 Symposium

This two-day international workshop will focus on the "state of the art" in the management, diagnosis and scientific investigation of vascular anomalies of the head and neck. The workshop shall consist of contributions from many countries to explore novel treatments, interdisciplinary tools and approaches to difficult cases as presented by invited leaders of the field. The course is designed to address sophisticated clinical questions and current basic science for practitioners invested in treating patients with hemangiomas and vascular malformations of the head and neck. Featured presentations will be followed by topic specific abstracts to cover current and novel information regarding vascular malformations and hemangiomas. Open forum and discussion will be encouraged to draw new information and consensus on management and future research directions.

Call for Abstracts

Abstract shall be less than 250 words with specific focus on diagnosis, management and scientific investigation of vascular anomalies of the head and neck. Abstract format shall contain the following sections-Objective: indicating the purposes of the study, Methods: describing material/patients and methods used, Results: organized description of critical results from study and, Conclusions: a statement outlining the importance of the study findings. Abstracts must be submitted via e-mail at va.symposium.abstract@gmail.com. Please provide contact information. Abstracts must be received no later than January 20, 2013. After review of the abstracts by the scientific committee, the presenter will be informed regarding their acceptance for oral or poster presentation.

Symposium Registration

The early registration fee for physicians is $300. Early registration is due on or before February 25, 2013. The standard registration fee is $350. Online registration is available at www.uams.edu/cmeregister.

You may also complete the registration form on the brochure and mail with payment by February 25, 2013, for the discounted rate. Checks should be made payable to UAMS COM OCME.

Social Events

Friday Evening
On Friday, April 5th, guests will enjoy a private night at the historic William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. The museum includes replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room. The permanent exhibits utilize 1.85 million photographs, 84,600 museum artifacts, videos and interactive stations. A cocktail reception and dinner will be held after the museum tour. The Clinton Presidential Library reception, dinner and tour are $75.00 per person (in addition to the conference fee). You must register and pay for this event prior to the conference.

Saturday Evening
Join us on Saturday, April 6th, for an evening of fun, food and baseball, one of America's favorite pastimes. Enjoy the Arkansas Travelers minor league baseball team and southern cuisine in a private pavilion at Dickey-Stephens Baseball Park. One ticket is included in your registration fee. Discounted tickets for spouses, children or guests will be available at $25 each.
