When Son Awoke, He Asked "When the Angels Would Come Sing to Him Again"
Submitted by Shannon Caplinger, mother of patient Chase

Our oldest son, Chase, was admitted to the PICU on April 21, 1996, with a closed head injury he sustained after climbing on a dresser with TV, the dresser tumbling on top of him. He was 3 years old. He sustained five skull fractures with a cerebral bleed. He was in a coma for four days. He woke up the fourth day, spending a total of two weeks in the hospital, to the Glory of God. When he woke up from the coma, he asked when the angels would come sing to him again. He also spoke of Jesus being with him when he was asleep. He received excellent care from the nurses and physicians. I was a labor and delivery nurse at the time and came to work at ACH six years later because I wanted to be a part the ACH team. This is an amazing place that doesn't "feel" like a hospital. The focus throughout the hospital is truly on the children and their families. I have been an RN for 19 years and worked in different hospitals, and they do not compare with ACH!
