Organizational meeting held to found the Arkansas Children’s Home Society

It all began with a meeting. What is now Arkansas Children's Hospital began as the Arkansas Children’s Home Society, an organization born from a meeting that took place in February 1912. Horace Pugh, who spearheaded the idea of forming the Society, wrote in the meeting’s official minutes, “The initial meeting for the purpose of organizing the Arkansas Children’s Home Society, auxiliary to the National Children’s Home Society, was held in General B.W. Green’s office, State Bank Building, Little Rock, February 24, 1912 at 8:00 P.M.”
