Cardiology Clinic

After being referred from a primary care doctor, the Cardiology Clinic at Arkansas Children's is usually the first stop for children with suspected or known heart problems. Our board-certified cardiologists provide compassionate care to children of all ages. Our experienced team of cardiologists are here to provide hope and healing to the tiniest of hearts.

During clinic visits, we offer non-invasive procedures to help identify problems including:

  • ECG
  • Holter monitoring
  • Transtelephonic ECG recording
  • 2- and 3-dimensional echocardiography
  • Exercise stress testing

We offer several clinics within The Heart Center including: Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic, Cardio Neurodevelopmental Clinic, Connective Tissue Clinic, Electro-physiology Clinic, Fetal Clinic, Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy Clinic, Pacemaker Clinic, and Transplant Clinic.

Note: This clinic is available to your child by physician referral. Talk with your child's physician and tell him/her you would like to be referred to Arkansas Children's. Have the doctor contact the Appointment Center to make a referral at 501-364-4000. If your child does not have a regular physician, please call 501-364-4000 and we will be happy to recommend one in your area.

Parking & Directions to the Cardiology Clinic

For Arkansas Children's location, park in the Green or Purple parking lot and enter through the hospital's main entrance. Just before the Red (glass) elevator, turn left into the South Wing. At the end of the concourse take the Blue elevator or the grand staircase to the second floor. As you exit the elevator turn right and travel down the long hallway to the other side of the building (toward the exterior glass doors). Turn right and the check in desk is straight ahead down the hall.

What to Expect

Before leaving home, please make sure you bring a list of you or your child's (the patient's) medications including medication name, dosage and how often it's taken. After registering at the front desk, you'll be asked to complete a medical history form and insurance paperwork.

A nurse will call you to the exam room, where height, weight and blood pressure will be taken. Then one of our cardiologists will meet with you to go over family health history and perform a physical exam.
