How is Arkansas Children's Hospital affiliated with Children’s
Miracle Network?
Arkansas Children's Hospital is one of 170 children’s hospitals in North
America affiliated with Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), a non-profit
organization dedicated to helping hospitalized kids by raising funds and awareness
for its member hospitals. Our affiliation with Children’s Miracle Network
gives the hospital access to the support and fundraising efforts of many sponsors
recruited on the national level by Children’s Miracle Network. Having
the backing of these national sponsors, such as Wal-Mart, Log A Load For Kids,
RE/MAX, Dairy Queen, etc. in turn makes it easier to secure local sponsors to
raise money for the hospital.
Why does ACH have Children’s Miracle Network fundraising locations
in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma?
Each hospital in the Children’s Miracle Network has a market area in which
it conducts its fundraising efforts. Each market is determined by the area television
markets. Because some Arkansas communities are served by stations whose market
includes parts of another state, those out-of-state areas become part of the
hospital’s fundraising area.
I want to make a donation. Where do I mail it and how do I make out
the check?
You may send your check to 1 Children's Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202
and make the check payable to Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation.
Are there volunteer opportunities outside of the Little Rock area?
Volunteer organizations supporting ACH work in all areas of the state. Click
here for more information or call (800)-880-7491.
Can I donate toys, clothing or other items for children at the hospital?
Yes, however, for health and safety reasons there are guidelines for what may
be donated. Click here
for a listing of our current needs, information on what can be donated, and
how to deliver your donation.
Why should I give to Arkansas Children's Hospital?
We feel there are so many reasons to give to the hospital, but the main one
is that your support ensures that all children have the chance to live healthy
lives. There are many examples on this website of the world-class, leading-edge
care that goes on every day at Arkansas Children's Hospital and Arkansas Children's
Hospital Research Institute, but if you don’t have time to look around,
here are the Five of the Best Reasons
to Give to ACH.
Who determines how my gift is used?
You do. You can designate your gift to a specific program or department or you
may elect to designate to our unrestricted fund. The unrestricted fund gives
the Foundation, the Hospital and the Boards of Directors flexibility in allocating
funds to meet crucial, priority needs.
I’ve heard that collecting pull-tabs from soda cans can help
provide chemotherapy or dialysis treatments. Does Arkansas Children's Hospital
participate in such a program?
If you are interested in collecting aluminum cans and pull-tabs in order to help children at ACH, we ask that you take these items to your local recycling center and then donate the proceeds to ACH. Due to the storage and staff time it would take to handle this project, Arkansas Children?s Hospital cannot accept actual pull-tabs and/or aluminum cans. Once you?ve recycled your items, you may mail your donation to the ACH Foundation, 1 Children?s Way Slot 661, Little Rock 72202, and indicate how you wish to designate your gift. We appreciate the effort that goes into this fundraising project, often by children and school groups, but collecting and storing these items at the hospital and eventually recycling them takes space and staff time we feel would better serve our patients.
