Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) is a non-profit organization dedicated
to helping hospitalized kids by raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s
hospitals. The hospitals affiliated with CMN help 17 million kids each year-kids
with cancer, birth defects, AIDS, accident trauma, and every healthcare issue
imaginable.
Arkansas Children's Hospital has been associated with CMN from CMN’s
inception in 1983.
CMN
is a year-round campaign to raise money and awareness for children’s hospitals.
Throughout the year, companies, community groups and individuals contribute
to the campaign – raising money through special events and sales promotions.
Our affiliation with Children’s Miracle Network gives the hospital access
to the support and fundraising efforts of many sponsors recruited on the national
level by Children’s Miracle Network. National sponsors such as Wal-Mart,
SAM’S CLUB, Log A Load For Kids, Dairy Queen, RE/MAX and Credit Unions 4 Kids bring
creativity and commitment to the cause.
Since 1983, more than $2.7 billion has been raised for children’s health
care through CMN. All money benefits the community’s local CMN hospital. Money
raised in Arkansas, northern Louisiana, eastern Texas and eastern Oklahoma benefits
Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Making a Difference at Arkansas Children's Hospital: How CMN Funds
are Used
Through Children’s Miracle Network, you can make a difference in the
lives of children. You can involve your community, organization or business
in an effort that builds our future.
Money from CMN projects has helped to fund:
Child Life and Education Department. The Child Life and Education Department addresses the emotional, social, educational and recreational needs of hospitalized children and adolescents. As recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Child Life programs utilize developmentally appropriate activities to minimize stress and anxiety and to foster positive feelings about health care.
Dental Clinic. This hospital-based pediatric dental clinic provides comprehensive care for infants, children and young adolescents with significant medical and/or developmental problems.
Patient Care Fund. The Patient Care Fund at Arkansas Children's Hospital is overseen by a committee of physicians and administrators who designate funds to the patient care areas of the hospital with the greatest need. The committee may choose to fund a piece of equipment, service or other project within the hospital that advances the care of children. What better way to invest a gift than in the hands of those who care for children everyday.
Angel One. The hospital’s transport system includes three ambulances,
two helicopters and an airplane. Angel One brings more than 1,800 ill and injured
children to ACH each year.
Log A Load Chair for Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery. This endowed
chair provides for salary and discretionary program funding for a top physician
in the field of pediatric cardiovascular surgery. Because of the Log A Load
chair, ACH has strengthened recruiting power to entice the best physicians to
our hospital.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) labs. Researchers
at ACHRI study such issues as cancer prevention, the causes of failure to thrive
disorders, allergies and asthma, birth defects and bone development. Funding
of lab space, a recent project for Wal-Mart, helps ensure we will continue to
progress in our understanding of pediatric development and in the prevention
and treatment of pediatric illnesses.
