Sam Mathias Joins Campaign to Open Arkansas Children's Northwest

01.05.2018

(Springdale) January 5 – Local business leader Sam Mathias has given $700,000 to the construction of Arkansas Children’s Northwest.

“I’m honored to join a caring community of donors who are putting children first,” said Sam Mathias, owner of Mathias Properties and Today’s Bank. “As a business owner in this community, I’m proud to support the children of Arkansas through Arkansas Children’s Northwest.”

Mathias began his first commercial real estate venture more than 30 years ago. He’s an active community advocate who has championed the northwest Arkansas region for decades. More than two decades ago, his granddaughter received care from ACH shortly after she was born. Sam understands and values the critical role of a children’s hospital.

“Arkansas Children’s is grateful to Sam for his commitment to the children of Arkansas,” says Fred Scarborough, chief development officer of Arkansas Children’s and president of Arkansas Children’s Foundation. “His endorsement of the region’s first and only children’s hospital is a testament to his care and concern for his community.”

The Arkansas Children’s Northwest campus is centrally located on I‐49 between Don Tyson Parkway, across from Arvest Ballpark. When it opens in early 2018, the facility will be the first and only children’s hospital in the region. The facility will provide right‐sized pediatric inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to more than 200,000 children in the Northwest Arkansas region.
