All-Terrrain Vehicle Safety

The goal of the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety program is to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by ATV-related crashes by increasing awareness of safe riding practices. A three-phase project is underway to achieve these goals. Current activities include the development and evaluation of educational materials for use in community-based ATV injury prevention; evaluating the impact of implementing targeted educational strategies for use in populations at high risk for ATV injury; and the evaluation of innovative message delivery strategies for ATV injury prevention for children and adolescents.

The project is funded by Emergency Medical Services for Children. For more information please contact, John Nixon, Project Coordinator, at (501) 364-3395 or nixonjohnc@uams.edu.
