Educational Programs for Junior High and High Schools

Science Teachers

We will come to your school and teach your Science classes for the day. Our 45-60 minute program is ideal for 7th or 8th grade classes. Our experienced staff will discuss the most common causes of burns and how to prevent them. Using real images of burns, we will also discuss the anatomy and physiology of the skin, 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns, skin grafts and any other burn-related topic at your request.

You may also request a video of the presentation and show it at your convenience. You can download a test on the material here.

To schedule a presentation or get more information, parksjc@archildrens.org.

Careers and Health Vocational Teachers

We will come to your school and teach your class for the day. Using real images from the Burn Center, we customize the classes to meet the objectives of your class—careers, medical terminology, surgery, burn treatment, burn prevention, home safety, etc.

Please contact us by parksjc@archildrens.org to discuss a presentation at your school.
