The Adolescent Eating Disorders Clinic is a multidisciplinary specialty clinic that is part of Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s Adolescent Medicine Program. The eating disorders program offers specialized outpatient services to children, teens and families for the evaluation of children and teens with eating disorders and follows up with appropriate treatment of children and teens with eating disorders including but not limited to anorexia and bulimia.
Our program’s multidisciplinary approach to wellness includes establishing goals for healthy eating, healthy weight, healthy self esteem and a healthy body image, as well as healthy coping and healthy balanced lifestyle development.
Members of the Adolescent Eating Disorders Clinic Team include pediatricians, psychologists, therapists, nutritionists, and nurses specializing in treating children and teenagers suffering from eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia as well as over-eating and other problematic eating behaviors. The multidisciplinary treatment approach to eating disorders has been supported as the most effective approach to address eating issues such as anorexia and bulimia and help put kids on the path to recovery from eating disorders.
With patient and family involvement and compliance with the treatment protocol, recovery from an eating disorder is possible. This clinic has seen many patients progress to wellness and recovery.
