The Cardiothoracic Surgery Service at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH)
offers a wide array of surgical care for children with congenital heart disease,
heart failure, respiratory failure, chest wall defects and lung disease. The
experienced team of surgeons, nurses, perfusionists and anesthesiologists are
able to provide surgical services for the most complex cardiac and pulmonary
diseases. Specific services include surgery for the single ventricle, transposition
of the great arteries, diseased valves, pectus defects and pediatric cardiac
transplantation. Surgical services are also provided for ECMO (Extracorporeal
Membrane Oxygenation), including mobile ECMO. The surgical procedures are performed
in the Heart Center operating room, with postoperative care rendered in the
Heart Center as well. The surgical team works closely with ACH cardiologists
and pulmonologists to render these specialized services.
Note: This clinic is available to your child by physician referral.
