Speech Pathology services at Arkansas Children’s Hospital provide evaluation
and treatment in the following areas: articulation and language delay disorders,
oral motor and feeding disorders including formal videofluroscopic swallowing
studies, cognitive/linguistic, aphasia, apraxia, cleft lip and palate, dysarthria,
dysfluency (stuttering), hearing impairment, voice disorders, cochlear implants
and placement/assistance with the Passy-Muir speaking valve in patients with
tracheostomy and ventilator dependence.
Speech pathology is available for consultation for neonates to adults on either
an inpatient or outpatient basis. Information concerning Speech Pathology services
available throughout the state is also provided. Inservices on any of the above
topics can be arranged for medical staff, parents or interested community
members.
Note: This clinic is available to your child by physician referral.
Talk with your child’s physician and tell him/her you would like to be
referred to ACH. Have the doctor contact the Arkansas Children’s Hospital
Physician Referral Services Department to make a referral. If your child does
not have a regular physician, please call 501-364-5901 and we will be happy
to recommend one in your area.
