The Pharmacy Department provides a full range of contemporary pharmaceutical services to the health care professionals and patients of Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Services to inpatients include a unit dose drug distribution system, an IV Admixture service, preparation of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) solutions and manufacturing and packaging of special pediatric dosage forms. Outpatient services include prescription dispensing, patient and parent counseling and specialty prescription compounding.

The hospital operates under a strict formulary system controlled by an active Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. All pharmacy services are provided on a 24-hour basis.
