New Physicians on Staff at Arkansas Children's Hospital
LITTLE ROCK, AR (August, 2008) – The following physicians have been approved by the board of directors at Arkansas Children’s Hospital as active members of the medical staff.
Kelly Burks, M.D. -- Dr. Burks graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2003. She completed an internship in 2004 and a residency in Pediatrics in 2006 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Burks completed a fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Allergy and Immunology in 2008. Dr. Burks will be working with Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic.
Samer Elbabaa, M.D. -- Dr. Elbabaa graduated from JordanUniversity, Jordan in 1998. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine/General Surgery at Al-BashirHospital in Jordan in 1998. He completed a Rotating internship in 1999 and a Neurosurgery residency in 2000 at JordanUniversityHospital in Jordan. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2002. He completed an internship in General Surgery in 2003 and a residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of North Carolina in 2008. Dr. Elbabaa will be working in the Department of Neurosurgery at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Neelam Makhijani, M.D. -- Dr. Makhijani graduated from Grant Medical College, India in 1998. She completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2008. Dr. Makhijani will be working in the Department of Pediatrics, Neonatology Section, at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
James D. Marsh, M.D. -- Dr. Marsh graduated from HarvardMedicalSchool in 1974. He completed an internship in 1975 a residency in 1977 in Internal Medicine, both at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease in 1980 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Marsh is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Marsh will be taking call in the Burn Unit at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Ali I. Raja, M.D. -- Dr. Raja graduated from the University of Punjab in 1998. He completed a research fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in 2001. He completed an internship in Surgery in 2002 and a residency in Neurosurgery in 2007 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Raja completed a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2008. Dr. Raja will be working in the Department of Neurosurgery at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Mark A. Reed, M.D. -- Dr. Reed graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 1985. He completed an internship in 1986 and a residency in 1988, both in Anesthesiology at GeorgetownUniversity. He completed a fellowship in Anesthesiology in 1989 at GeorgeWashingtonUniversity’s Children’s HospitalNationalMedicalCenter. Dr. Reed is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology. Dr. Reed will be working the Department of Anesthesiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Ali Saad, M.D. -- Dr. Saad was awarded a medical degree from the Lebanese University Faculty of Medicine and completed an internship in Surgery at the AmericanUniversity of Beirut in 1998. He completed a residency in Anatomical Pathology in 2000 at the AmericanUniversity of Beirut. Dr. Saad completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2005. He completed a fellowship in Pathology in 2006, a fellowship in Pediatric Pathology in 2007, and a fellowship in Neuropathology in 2008 at the Harvard Medical School Program. Dr. Saad is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Saad will be working in the Department of Pathology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
