Clark Center for Safe and Healthy Children

The David M. Clark Center for Safe and Healthy Children is dedicated to the care and treatment of neglected and abused children and their families. It is a single, safe place for children to receive medical, psychological and social health services. The Center is located at 1210 Wolfe Street, Little Rock, AR 72202 and houses four main service providers. 

Rebecca and Robert Rice Medical Clinic

(Formerly Arkansas Children's House)

  • Trains medical students and resident physicians on child abuse evaluations

Children’s Protection Center (CPC)

  • Brings together the various professionals in a child abuse investigation, from law enforcement and prosecutors to medical and mental health professionals – to help coordinate the communities’ response to child abuse
  • Provides quality forensic interviews, family support and advocacy and access to mental health and medical services

Family Treatment Center (FTP)

  • Provides specialized mental health care for victims and family members impacted by sexual abuse

Child Study Center

Director: Margaret Weiss M.D., Ph.D.

  • Provides consultation on complex psychiatric disorders that cannot be managed in primary care
  • Offers individual, family and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

NOTE: Suspicions of child abuse or neglect should be reported directly to the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-482-5964. Children in need of emergency medical care should be taken to an emergency department, or 911 should be called to assist with emergency transport if needed. If you are a medical provider, police or DHS directing a patient to the Arkansas Children’s Emergency Department (ED) for child abuse concerns, it is extremely helpful for the person with knowledge of the situation to communicate with the ED directly by calling (501) 364-1185 or contacting Arkansas Children's social work on call (501) 364-1100.
