Conditions We Treat

Acute bronchitis in children is an inflammation of the breathing tubes in the lungs. It is most often caused by a virus and can often occur after your child has a cold or other viral illness.
Asthma is a chronic (long-lasting) disease of the airways (lungs) that involves swelling, airway obstruction and hyper-reactivity. Learn More
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia is a chronic lung disease that can occur in infants. It most often affects premature babies who need help breathing. The condition occurs when the baby’s lungs are damaged from being on a respirator or having oxygen therapy. Learn More
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited condition that causes the body to make very thick, sticky mucus. This thick mucus interferes with how many systems in the body work, and causes damage to the lungs, digestive and endocrine systems, and other organs in the body. CF is a condition that a baby is born with.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition where breathing is affected during sleep due to obstruction of the upper airway. This occurs during sleep because the muscles in the airway relax and the airway partially closes. Learn More
Neuromuscular diseases, particularly in children, can lead to significant respiratory complications due to weakened respiratory muscles and other factors. These complications, including respiratory failure, aspiration, and impaired airway clearance, can be life-threatening and require specialized respiratory management.
Pneumonia is an infection in the lungs. When a child has pneumonia, the air sacs in their lungs fill with mucus. This can make it hard to breathe and cause other symptoms. Recurrent pneumonia in children is defined as multiple pneumonia episodes within a year or lifetime.
Wheezing is a high-pitched whistling sound from the lungs that most often happens with an exhale or inhale. It is caused by narrowed airways in the lungs.
