Job Requirements

Child Life Specialist
Hospital School Teacher
Patient Activity Specialist

Child Life Specialist

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development, or related field

Experience:
Completion of 480 hour Child Life Internship under a Certified Child Life Specialist in a hospital setting
Exposure to children of all ages in a variety of settings
2 years experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Child Life certification or eligible. Certification to be obtained within 1 year of employment or first 2 opportunities following employment. Certification to be maintained for part-time and full-time staff.

Special Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Adapt easily to varying job responsibilities
Takes initiative, highly motivated

Work Environment:
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to get on the floor
Able to push 150 lbs
Able to work in a warm environment

Hospital School Teacher

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education
Special Education Preferred
Master's Preferred

Experience:
2 years public school teaching experience
Experience in an alternative setting preferred
Experience working with children with special needs preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Arkansas Teacher's Certfication/License or eligible

Special Skills: (typing, data entry, word processing etc.)
Knowledge of Microsoft office preferred
Strong written and oral skills
Strong customer service skills
Adapts easily to varying job responsibilities
Takes initiative, highly motivated

Work Environment:
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to get on the floor
Able to push 150 lbs
Able to work in warm environment

Patient Activity Specialist

Education:
Associate's Degree
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Degrees preferred in Early Childhood, Child Development, Education, Psychology or related field

Experience:
Two years experience working with children
Experience with hospitalized children or children with special needs preferred
Experience planning activities for a variety of age groups

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR

Special Skills: (typing, data entry, word processing etc.)
Ability to handle high stress situations
Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills
Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
Self-Directed, takes initiative, highly motivated
Manage multiple tasks
Telephone skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Print Shop

Work Environment:
Able to move about the hospital easily to provide services to patients throughout the hospital
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to get on the floor to interact with children in activity areas
Able to push/pull 150 lbs
Able to work in a warm environment to take children to outside play areas
