Elizabeth A. Frazier M.D. is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children's Hospital. She is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Transplant program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, a role she has filled since the programs creation in 1990.


Dr. Frazier received her BA in Chemistry from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She served as Chief Pediatric Resident from 1984-1985. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California and did additional training in Pediatric Cardiac Transplantation.


Dr. Frazier returned to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in January of 1989. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Cardiology, as well as, a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American Heart Association.


Dr. Frazier has practiced in all areas of Pediatric Cardiology, but her primary interests are in cardiac intensive care, cardiac transplantation, and heart failure. She has previously served as the Director of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for 11 years and is a past recipient of the American Heart Ball Quilt and the prestigious Ruth Olive Beall Award from Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
