Keep Your Kids Sharp this Summer: A Reading List from Arkansas Children's

June 04, 2020

During the past few months, we swam with fish, danced with giraffes and gave a mouse a cookie. We learned that cows can type, numbers climb trees and fifer-feffer-feffs are furry. Of course, we did all of this through the fun and creativity reading inspires.

Many of the Arkansas Children's doctors shared their favorite books in an effort to bring a little joy and a short distraction for kids during the pandemic. Here's a recap of the books, with links to the videos:

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault

The Pout Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen

Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae

La Gran Rana Bocona by Ana Martin Larranaga

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

The ABC Book by Dr. Seuss

Frog on a Log by Kes Gray

As your family heads into summer, we hope you keep reading! Our friends at WordsWorth Books in Little Rock have all the books we shared in the videos.
