Family Advisory Board Members

Family Advisory Board (FAB) Members provide insight and feedback to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. A Family Advisory Board provides guidance on issues related to patient and family centered care, they offer ideas and suggestions regarding policy and practice, assist in promoting good relations between ACH and the members of the community and work on special projects related to their interest.

  • There are 5 FAB’s in the hospital, some area specific (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) or some diagnosis specific (Cystic Fibrosis).
  • Applicants will be asked to complete an application, background check, interview, training and immunization updates.
  • The immunization updates are: a flu shot during flu season, 2 tuberculosis skin tests, a current TDAP, documentation of 2 MMR vaccines and documentation of varicella immunization or providing history of the disease.  The Family Engagement Coordinator will explain where these can be given free of charge once an applicant is selected for a FAB.
  • We ask for a two year commitment
