Chapel Story

Mr. Hershel Friday was a long-time Arkansas Children's Hospital board member. Our chapel is named for Hershel and Beth Friday's daughter, Pamela Friday. Pamela was born February 27, 1953, in Little Rock. She was their only daughter and youngest child, having two older brothers, Gregory and Steven.

Pamela attended schools in the Little Rock Public School system and was graduated from Hall High School in 1971.

In August 1971, she married Jay F. Freeman of Little Rock. Pamela and Jay attended Ouachita Baptist University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock together. Pam loved country life and enjoyed the horses she kept at their home in Cabot. On January 1, 1975, Cassandra Alexis Freeman was born to Pam and Jay. On March 3, 1977, Pam died after a sudden illness.

In 1982 the Pamela Friday Freeman Chapel was dedicated in her loving memory.
