Live. Learn. & Play Podcast Rewind

At the beginning of 2019, the strategic marketing content team at Arkansas Children’s launched the Live. Learn. & Play podcast as a way to share stories from our patients, families and team members. While most pediatric healthcare podcasts focus on educational or “what-to-expect” content, we decided to take a different approach and share inspirational stories of hope, hardship, and healing. We believe the content will build connections and inspire others to help us reach more children in more ways where they live, learn and play.

Over the past year, we have talked about heart transplants, cleft diagnoses, Down Syndrome, pediatric cancer and more. We heard what’s it like to care for patients on Angel One and in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). It’s been an emotional, yet amazing year of stories.

About 1,400 people have played our podcast across the world - including South Korea, Italy, and Australia. The content team has produced 11 podcasts, with plans for a more robust 2020.

Our most listened to episode was from May 2019 when we interviewed Katie Clifton, mom of five-year-old Mercy. In this episode, Katie talked about her daughter’s sudden hearing loss and what the team at Arkansas Children’s did that gave the family hope again. If you missed it the first time, listen to it here.
