Volunteer Requirements

Arkansas Children’s volunteers are carefully screened, processed and placed in appropriate assignments. This process includes a criminal background check, a 2-step TB (tuberculosis) skin test, hospital orientation and interview with Volunteer Engagement staff.   All volunteers between the ages of 14-18 are eligible for the Arkansas Children's Junior Volunteer Program and must follow a separate screening process. The process for becoming an Arkansas Children’s volunteer takes time, but it is meant to ensure the safety of patients and families as well as the success of our volunteers. For more information, contact Volunteer Engagement at 501-364-1825 or e-mail volunteer@archildrens.org.
