BENTONVILLE, AR. (Aug. 29, 2024) - Walmart and Sam's Club raised more than $1.45 million during their month-long, annual campaign to support Arkansas Children's through the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals.
This initiative, running from June 10 to July 7, raised funds to support the 170 CMN Hospitals across the United States and Canada. Arkansas Children’s was the second largest fundraising market in this CMN Hospitals campaign, second only to the Los Angeles market. The overall campaign raised $42.3 million – 18.46% more than it raised in 2023.
As part of this campaign, every dollar raised at nearly all Arkansas stores and clubs benefits Arkansas Children's Hospital and Arkansas Children's Northwest. These funds help provide vital health services and support Arkansas Children's mission to champion children by making them better today and healthier tomorrow.
Walmart and Sam’s Club shoppers participated by following a prompt at self-checkout and assisted checkout registers through the Walmart app, at Walmart.com, and by giving cash in store-run drives. Walmart employees at the corporate office in Bentonville also contributed to the total.
“This remarkable achievement showcases the dedication and generosity of Walmart and Sam’s Club associates and customers in supporting the health and well-being of children across the nation," said Fred Scarborough, executive vice president and chief development officer at Arkansas Children's. "Walmart founder Sam Walton once said, 'If any one thing characterizes our Walmart associates and company, it is this philosophy of caring and sharing.' This philosophy continues to guide Walmart and Sam's Club leaders and associates as they make a positive difference in the lives of children. We are grateful for their partnership."
Since 1987, Walmart and Sam's Club have raised over $1 billion for CMN Hospitals, including more than $47 million for Arkansas Children's. Last year, Walmart and Sam's Club raised more than $1.4 million for Arkansas Children's.
