  • Level IV Pediatric Trauma Center

Unlike other neighboring emergency departments, we offer:

  • Pediatric emergency department
  • Primary and specialty care pediatric clinic services
  • Full range of ancillary and diagnostic services, child life, social work and pastoral care programs
  • Helicopter landing pad and refueling station for Angel One, one of the nation’s leading pediatric intensive care transport services with more than 2,000 transports annually
  • A state-of-the-art pediatric surgery unit with 5 operating rooms

Family-Centered Care Promotes Positive Experiences

Because we care only for children — including infants, toddlers, adolescents and teenagers — we know what patients and families need most to heal. Our space was designed for family-centered care. It promotes healing and well-being through:

  • Wellness space designed to raise children’s discovery and delight
  • Outdoor gardens, nature trails and interactive features designed just for children
  • Rooms for breast-feeding available on each level of the hospital
  • Large changing tables available for older children and those with complex medical needs. These are located in the family restroom in the Emergency Department (ED) lobby on Level 1 and the family restroom in the Outpatient Clinics lobby on Level 3

Our team of pediatric specialists expertly care for children with all types of injuries and health conditions, including the most complex. From our buildings to our doctors, patients and families are at the center of every decision we make. Arkansas Children’s Northwest takes a family-centered approach to care. We respect the role a child’s family plays in his or her long-term care. We share information with families in caring ways that are understood and helpful. We include caregivers as part of a child’s healthcare team.

Specialized Care through Clinical Trials and Second Opinions

Every part of Arkansas Children’s Northwest leading-edge care is meant to improve children’s health and wellness. That includes giving families access to advanced research through the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute. We provide many clinical trials for children with various health needs. Patients and families often want another opinion about new diagnoses or treatment options. We accept referrals and offer second opinions for clinical care and clinical trials.
