He was recently fitted with a myoelectric shoulder level prosthesis by Greg Armstrong, chief orthotist/prosthetist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. “I am grateful to be able to help Gabe and proud to represent our program in such a positive light,” Greg said. “I am incredibly thankful to be a part of ACH with all of its resources and the Rehab Services team efforts to patient care.”
This is only the fourth upper limb replacement that Arkansas Children's Hospital has done, but with new technologies and an easier fitting process, more children will be receiving these types of prostheses soon.
KARK, Channel 4, spent an afternoon with Gabriel as he received the new arm and checked out exactly how it works. To hear more about Gabe’s journey from his mom, LaDonna Johnson.
