Junior Volunteer Program

As we at Arkansas Children's continue to monitor COVID-19, your health and safety remain a top priority. For the safety of our patients, families and volunteers, our team of medical professionals has advised that we limit who enters our hospitals and clinics, and we therefore regret to inform you that we'll be unable to host the 2020 June Session (June 1-18) of the Summer Junior Volunteer Program. Onboarding procedures that require travel to campus are not possible with our current restrictions.

At this time, we plan to continue with the July session (July 6-23), but request your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor CDC recommendations in our continued commitment to your health and safety and the health and safety of our patients and families.

If you are able to participate in the July session, please submit all application materials as requested by the April 1st deadline. We will be in touch with next steps by April 30, when we'll know more about the current environment at that time.

Please reach out with any questions, and know that we value and appreciate your interest in being a champion for children at Arkansas Children's.

The ACH Junior Volunteer Program offers service opportunities for high school students (ages 14-18). Volunteers are an important part of our team; they help us deliver on our promise to provide the best experience possible to all of our patients. As a junior volunteer, you help support our mission of making children better today and healthier tomorrow.

To help determine the applicant’s readiness to participate as a volunteer at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, all communication is encouraged to be handled by the applicant directly. Please note that due to the growing popularity of these programs, there are a limited number of available positions and placement decisions are based upon an interview process, not on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage you to be thoughtful in the completion of all application materials.

We are looking for junior volunteers who are:

  • true champions for children
  • interested in gaining experience in a hospital setting
  • looking for work-life experience that they can use in the future

If you are interested in participating and are able to answer yes to the following questions, please read more about our programs and how to get involved below!

  • Are you 14 or older?
  • Are you able to commit to the time-requirement (see schedule for both Summer and School-Year programs below)?
