The Pediatric Surgery team at Arkansas Children's now has a team of nine pediatric surgeons after welcoming the two newest members.
Sabina Siddiqui, M.D., trained in general surgery at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She completed pediatric surgery, surgical critical care and surgical innovation fellowships at the University of Michigan. Her interests include global health, surgical innovation and critical care. She will be based at Arkansas Children’s Northwest in Springdale.
Robert Vandewalle, M.D., trained in general surgery at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He completed surgical critical care training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and a pediatric surgical fellowship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. His interests include bariatric/metabolic surgery and critical care. He will be based at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
Drs. Mary Oliver Coppedge and Isabella Catron joined the Audiology team this summer, helping expand our coverage to Little Rock, Jonesboro, Springdale, Southwest Little Rock and West Little Rock.
If you see a patient who has failed his or her newborn hearing screening, refer for follow-up testing as soon as possible. A failed hearing screening should be viewed as a potential developmental emergency until an audiological workup is completed, either diagnosing a hearing loss or confirming normal hearing.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock’s Orthopedic Urgent Access Clinic that offers same-day urgent access. The clinic is now offering acute appointments needed within 48 hours. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Call 501-366-5482 to speak to a nurse to set up same-day appointments or appointments needed within the next two days.
The ACH Jonesboro Clinic has added a full-time audiologist and a monthly plastic and reconstructive surgery clinic. They will add ultrasound to the weekly schedule the second week in November. Click here for the full clinic schedule

Occupational therapy is now available at Arkansas Children's Northwest. Ashley Samuelson, OT, is taking referrals for delayed motor skills, orthopedic and injury relation rehabilitation, splinting/orthoses and serial casting. Occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need to participate in daily routines of leisure, activities of daily living and learning experiences at home, school and other community environments.
