LITTLE ROCK, AR. (Sept. 25, 2019) – Arkansas Children's Hospital is making sure that all children who visit its campus for care have access to a free, nutritious meal as part of U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) At-Risk Afterschool Meals Component.
Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows: River Bend Snacks in the Main Hospital, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The CACFP is a federally funded, state-administered program that provides funding to child and adult care centers and homes that serve healthy meals and snacks. Through the At-Risk Afterschool Meals component of CACFP, healthy meals and snacks can be served to children and teenagers who participate in afterschool programs in low-income areas.
