Kidney stones (also called renal calculi, nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis) are small deposits of minerals that form in your child's urinary tract or bladder.

Possible Kidney Stone Causes

  • High-salt diets
  • Not drinking enough water each day
  • Medications
  • Underlying kidney conditions

Symptoms of Kidney Stones

  • Tenderness in the lower back, side, or stomach
  • Blood in the urine
  • Painful urination

Kidney Stone Prevention 

  • Decrease salt and packaged food
  • Increase water intake
