Over the past 25 years, Dr. Aaron Kemp's research has primarily focused on identifying the neural underpinnings of cognitive impairment associated with various neurodevelopmental, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders. Methods include:
The overarching purpose is to apply novel neuroinformatic analysis pipelines to identify brain-based measures that could eventually serve as candidate endophenotypic biomarkers of functional impairment in discrete neurocognitive processes or as surrogate efficacy markers for experimental interventions targeting cognitive impairment. Dr. Kemp provides consultation and advice on the development, validation, and application of biomedical informatics using methods such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLM), and high-performance computing (HPC).
