Arkansas Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders

At Arkansas Children’s, patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders receive care from a nationally recognized team of experts. We are proud to be Arkansas's first and only federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC).

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Maternal and Child Health Bureau designated our center a Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center.

We provide lifespan care for all bleeding disorders—including Hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, platelet disorders, and other rare bleeding disorders—from infancy through adulthood.

For patients with blood clots - deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or inherited clotting conditions/ thrombophilia (e.g., Protein C or S deficiency, Antithrombin deficiency, Factor V Leiden, Prothrombin gene mutation, and antiphospholipid antibody syndrome), we provide care through age 21 and support transition to adult care.

Whether navigating a new diagnosis or continuing ongoing management, the Arkansas Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders supports you every step. When your child is diagnosed with hemophilia or a bleeding disorder, managing and living with the condition can seem overwhelming. You can rest easy knowing that with the proper care – and a few precautions – your child can live life like most children. In fact, sports and physical activity are encouraged because they help your child develop stronger muscles and joints, which can reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes.

The Arkansas Center for Bleeding Disorders is a LifeSpan clinic that cares for children and adults with bleeding disorders. Our experts collaborate with you and your child to create a personalized care plan that supports their health and lifestyle.
