Beginnings Follow Up Study

Study Overview

Previous Beginnings study participants are invited back to the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center for a follow-up study.

Study Eligibility

These study participants, who were previously monitored until age 6, will be asked to return to the Center and ACH at age 14 for one visit, which may be broken down into several days
depending on their schedule.

Study Requirements

Many of the follow-up procedures will be similar to the first study. The teens will do body composition measurements, a blood collection and will visit the Center’s activity lab to do physical fitness
assessments. Additionally, an ultrasound and pQCT will be conducted at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

The parent/guardian and the participant will each receive a $150 check for completing the visit.
