Alliance for Grief and Loss

The Alliance for Grief and Loss is an informal coalition of helping professionals interested in grief and loss issues. All meetings are at Arkansas Children's Hospital Professional Building 1 (formerly East Campus) unless otherwise noted, have a program related to grief and loss, and are brown-bag lunch meetings. Please email goodmourning@archildrens.org for more information or to be added to the email mailing list for the Alliance for Grief and Loss. All are welcome.

Good Mourning Grief Support Groups

Good Mourning Grief Support Groups are for any child or teen, ages Kindergarten through high school, who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. There are also support groups available for the adults in the family. There is no charge for the program, but a completed application is required for each child or teen. For spring 2019, the Parent Orientation will be Tuesday, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. and all groups begin Tuesday, March 26, at 6:00 p.m. To apply online go to www.goodmourningcenter.org. Free Grief Seminar—Arkansas State University—Wednesday, May 22, 9 am-3:30 pm

This year’s Billy Joe and Betty Ann Emerson’s Grief Seminar will be Traumatic Loss and the Family: Strategies for Intervention presented by Dr. Bill Hoy, DMin, FT. There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, email Lshimasaki@astate.edu.

The Young Adult Grief Retreat (YAGR) is a transformative weekend for young adults (ages 18-22) to embrace the triumphs and challenges of young adulthood with their peers, while developing lasting friendships, leadership skills, and coping strategies for the next steps in their grief journey and life.
