Camp Alex—June 23-27

Camp Alex is a special summer camp program hosted by the Alex Blackwood Foundation for HOPE along with the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Center for Good Mourning. Camp Alex will provide a fun-filled, healing environment for children and teens, grades 6-12, whose lives have been affected by suicide. The camp will provide a unique opportunity to connect with other survivors and develop lasting friendships while learning valuable coping skills to use in their everyday lives back home. Alliance for Grief and Loss
The Alliance for Grief and Loss is an informal coalition of helping professionals interested in grief and loss issues. All meetings are at Arkansas Children's Hospital Professional Building 1 (formerly East Campus) unless otherwise noted, have a program related to grief and loss, and are brown-bag lunch meetings. Please email goodmourning@archildrens.org for more information or to be added to the email mailing list for the Alliance for Grief and Loss. Meetings for the 2019-20 academic year will begin Monday, August 26. All are welcome.
Next meeting: Monday, June 3, 11:30 am-1:00 pm. Book discussion will cover Because You’ve Never Died Before Spiritual Issues at the End of Life by Kathleen J. Rusnak.

Good Mourning Grief Support Groups
Good Mourning Grief Support Groups are for any child or teen, ages Kindergarten through high school, who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. There are also support groups available for the adults in the family. There is no charge for the program, but a completed application is required for each child or teen. For fall 2019, the Parent Orientation will be Tuesday, September 24, at 6:00 p.m. and all groups begin Tuesday, October 1, at 6:00 p.m. To apply online go to www.goodmourningcenter.org.
