Arkansas Programs

Good Mourning Grief Support Groups

Good Mourning Grief Support Groups are for any child or teen, ages Kindergarten through high school, who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. There are also support groups available for the adults in the family. There is no charge for the program, but a completed application is required for each child or teen. For spring 2020, the Parent Orientation will be Tuesday, March 17, at 6:00 p.m. and all groups begin Tuesday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m. To apply online go to For more information call 501-364-7000.

Alliance for Grief and Loss

The Alliance for Grief and Loss is an informal coalition of helping professionals interested in grief and loss issues. All meetings are at Arkansas Children's Hospital Professional Building 1 (formerly East Campus) unless otherwise noted, have a program related to grief and loss, and are brown-bag lunch meeting beginning at 11:30 am. Death Café of Central Arkansas

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake and discuss death over coffee or other drinks.

Camp Healing Hearts Camp is scheduled for May 15 – 17, 2020 at Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock. It is a free service sponsored by the Kaleidoscope Grief Center of Methodist Family Health for bereaved children age 5 -18 and their adult caregivers who are grieving the death of a loved one. Race for a Healthier Tomorrow—Saturday, April 18, Arkansas Children’s Hospital. A family-friendly, timed 5K sponsored by the Arkansas Children’s Auxiliary. It is through the generosity of the AC Auxiliary that the Center for Good Mourning provides no-fee grief support and education services to children, families, and community groups in Arkansas. Camp Alex—June 21-25 

Camp Alex is a special summer camp program hosted by the Alex Blackwood Foundation for HOPE along with the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Center for Good Mourning. Camp Alex provides a fun-filled, healing environment for children and teens, grades 6-12, whose lives have been affected by suicide. The camp is hosted at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center west of Little Rock, Use the following link to register:
