If your child is diagnosed with diabetes or another endocrine condition, you likely have many questions about how to help your child live life well.

At Arkansas Children’s, we provide comprehensive care for children with many endocrine disorders, including:

  • Pediatric diabetes, type 1 and 2, and pre-diabetes
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Pituitary conditions (Short stature)
  • Adrenal gland conditions
  • Pediatric development (disorders of puberty)
  • Endocrine problems after treatment of cancer
  • Calcium disorders, including hypercalcemia, hypocalcemia, Vitamin D deficiency

Our board-certified pediatric endocrinologists provide comprehensive care for children with endocrine disorders. Our team includes pediatric endocrinologists, advanced practice pediatric nurse practitioners, highly trained nurses and clinical diabetes educators who collaborate with other services within Arkansas Children’s and primary caregivers to develop individualized treatment plans.

  • 3,750 type 1 diabetes outpatient visits
  • 300 diabetes-related care admissions for type 1 patients
  • 737 type 2 diabetes outpatient visits
  • 68 Number of diabetes-related care admissions for type 2 patients
  • 96% of primary care type 1 diabetes patients < 19 years of age who were treated in the past 12 months or longer who were scheduled for four or more outpatient clinic visits in the past 12 months
