Dr. Jon David Oden joined Arkansas Children's Hospital as the section chief of endocrinology and medical director of the endocrine clinic in 2015. He specializes in the management of pediatric obesity and diabetes.
Dr. Oden is committed to improving the quality of life for children with diabetes through innovative care strategies. He has led significant research studies, including an IRB-approved project focused on the effects of a type 1 diabetes summer camp on energy expenditure and blood glucose control.
Dr. Oden has been recognized with several awards and honors, including the Children’s Clinical Research Advisory Committee Grant Award for his research on "The Role of Growth Hormone in the Development of Abnormal Glucose Tolerance in Obese Youth.” He has received funding and awards for his leadership in clinic development and his work on the Center for Obesity and its Consequences in Health (COACH) Clinic.
He contributes to numerous peer-reviewed publications on critical topics in pediatric endocrinology. Dr. Oden's research and clinical leadership continue to impact the field of pediatric endocrinology, and, most importantly, benefit his patients at Arkansas Children’s.
